For everything to be like ‘Ohhh that’s so Lis and Steve!’ We wanted a super fun atmosphere, a killer dance floor, and after watching Schitt’s Creek we landed on the black and white theme for the guests. We wanted every single detail to reflect who we are as a couple. Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding… He got down on one knee with the ring and asked me to marry him and I thought he was joking, when I finally realised he was serious I burst into tears, then we went and bought a carton of Coronas to celebrate! It was so perfect being just the two of us. He planned to propose on a mountain walk but there were too many people around, then planned to do it on a sunset cruise but again too many people, and did it on the walk back on the beach. Steve proposed when we were away for our 8 year anniversary. Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

We were in the car and take on me by A-Ha came on and he belted it out like nothing I’d ever seen before – that was when I was like oh this dude is so much fun, I could get used to this for the rest of my life. When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with? We made out in secret for a couple of weeks in the church carpark and then we started dating in November. Steve didn’t really pay any attention to me at first because he was busy on his phone, I did trip over the night we met which has stuck in his mind.

We met through mutual friends when we were, I was obsessed with Steve’s emo hair and tall lanky body, plus he was in a band. How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions? I work in Marketing and Steve is a producer in breakfast radio, we both love music, horror movies and our little sausage dog Snags.
